Join us to reform Healthcare in Michigan and America!

As leadership in Volunteer Services in our healthcare facilities part of our job should be to educate our volunteers on healthcare reform. Healthcare reform in Michigan and America is to ensure that everyone has access to quality, affordable healthcare.

Here are few ways as leadership in Volunteer Services in healthcare facilities can help!

Educate your volunteers

Inform volunteers of the issues by:

  • Including information in your volunteer orientation
  • Display on your bulletin board in your volunteer area.
  • Use the MHA (Michigan Hospital Association Monday Report).
  • Write article for your volunteer newsletter.

Encourage volunteers to contact their elected officials

    • Keep the MIR’s MI Election Guide and Almanac available for the volunteers so they can look up who their elected official representatives are. www.therossmangroup.com
    • Draft a standard letter for the volunteers to sign and send to the representative in your area on their behalf.
    • Have a computer available so they can contact elected officials in your area directly.
    • Have them visit the Michigan Hospital Association website at: MHA.org
    • Encourage volunteer to vote!

Encourage volunteers to write their newspaper.

     Spread the word

Discuss the importance to health reform with your volunteers!
