About Us
MICHIGAN COUNCIL OF DIRECTORS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICES IN HEALTH CARE ORGANIZATIONS
Ever aware of the challenge of change
Our Mission
The Michigan Council of Directors of Volunteer Services (MCDVS), chartered in 1972, is a non-profit corporation with the purpose of promoting the professional development of the membership and advancing the quality of volunteer services management in healthcare institutions.
Since its inception, MCDVS has provided educational programs that contribute to the personal and professional growth of its members. Nationally recognized speakers have presented workshops at statewide membership conferences to help volunteer services administrators develop new leadership and management techniques.
MCDVS has a rich heritage to pass on to new members. This association has helped achieve recognition of volunteer service management as a profession and become a political advocate for state and national health related issues.
MCDVS has a reputation as an assertive, professional and progressive council with strong leadership, dedicated board members and involved, caring members who represent the total healthcare volunteer community – auxilians, Red Cross and unaffiliated volunteers.
